Her Day At Versailles – Bridal Shower
I had the honor of hosting my best friend’s bridal shower 2 years ago and this was one of my favorite events planned thus far. To this day, many of her guests are still raving about her bridal shower! When she initially conferred with me regarding her maid-of-honor request I was honored but secretly was more excited about the idea of throwing her bridal shower. I knew without a shadow of doubt I wanted a sheer regal theme. It took months of planning and researching various venues before I rendered my final decision. The wait was well worth it as I found the perfect venue to host this event – a French Renaissance inspired private mansion with incomparable elegance. During my site visit with the mansion’s owner I was instantly blown away by the 24-foot ceilings, opulent hanging chandeliers, a spiral staircase and a dramatic water fountain located in the garden atrium room. Furthermore, this mansion offered several rooms to explore, ranging from a cozy fireplace in the library to even a quaint chapel! After my tour, I realized this mansion reminded me of my visit to Chateau De Versailles in France several years ago. And so my friends this retrospect of my Parisian trip was the birth of the bridal shower theme -“Her Day at Versailles.” My goal was to make the bride-to-be and her guests feel like royalty indulged by a unique experience.
I am a fanatic when it comes to attention to details. In my world, no detail is left behind when executing an event. The bridal shower invitations were DIY designed by me and were delivered in a royal gold colored box to 50 guests. I absolutely love surprising event guests. And to add more suspense, the location of the venue was not disclosed on the invitation but instead was cited as “surprise venue.”On the day of the bridal shower the guests were picked up by a surprise luxury limo service.Upon arrival at the mansion, theguests were greeted with mimosas served with personalized photo napkins of the bride-to-be and groom. And to add more touch of glam to the opening segment of the event,a live violinist entertained from the indoor balcony as the guests made their way to their table seating. The table settings were simple and adorned with DIY centerpieces I created;tall trumpet vases with white flower balls and hanging clear acrylic beads. The major highlights of the event program was a dance performance by liturgical dancers, an etiquette session with an etiquette coach, a cooking lesson by a chef (each guest received a copy of the recipe) and raffle drawings for back massages on site by a licensed massage therapist. And just when the bride-to-be thought she was overwhelmed by the ongoing surprises – I arranged for a surprise visit of her fiancé right before she opened her first gift. He arrived with a beautiful floral arrangement of red roses. This moment was so magical and emotional there was not a dry eye in the room. The event concluded with a private photo shoot of the bride-to-be and her fiancé at the master bedroom and private chapel of the mansion. She also had a wardrobe change exclusively for the photo shoot. The guests received edible chocolate mini photo frames of the couple as their bridal shower favors.
In the end “Her Day at Versailles” themed bridal shower was so much fun planning and designing! If you are looking to have the ultimate bridal shower or maybe an event on a smaller scale don’t hesitate to hire Conceptions Events for your event!
